A low glycemic index is less than or equal to 55. From 56 to 70 is a normal index and above 70 is a high.

Some examples of foods with a high glycemic index are white rice with a GI of 73, mashed potatoes with a GI of 87, boiled sweet potato with a GI of 82, baguettes with a GI of 95, cola with a GI of 65GI), and white sugar has a GI of 65GI.
